Manila Film Center
The
construction of the Manila Film Center was rushed to accommodate a film
fest to be held on 1981. Engineers have overlooked the design and the
structure collapsed when more than half of the infrastructure was
already built. Less than 100 bodies were buried under the rubble. It
was believed that Imelda Marcos was so determined to beat the deadline
that she did not want the bodies to be removed for it would take time.
Instead, the bodies were buried by cement. A spirit quest, led by Tony
Perez was also held in the area to free the disturbed spirits. Further
evidences, though, proved that the bodies were exhumed from the rubble
right after the accident.
